Benefits of Affirmations

What are the benefits of using affirmations?

  • They motivate us to act
  • They help us concentrate on our goals
  • They enable us to change our negative thought patterns into positive ones
  • They influence our subconscious mind to access new beliefs
  • They help us feel positive about ourselves and boost our self-confidence

Affirmations manifest a sense of empowerment and worth.

Affirmations are positive, realistic mantras that have the ability to shift or change our mood and encourage us to have a different view of ourselves and the world around us.

Affirmations are statements that help us reframe our thoughts into thoughts that are more truthful and helpful.

With repetition and practice our brains can and will be trained to re-wire itself to truly believe them.

We spend a great deal of time listening to that little voice in our head, usually the critical and negative voice that are hurtful and unhelpful. They cause us to grow that little seed of doubt that continues to grow into something that becomes bigger and bigger.

These negative voices or thoughts may start off with an occasional whisper but soon they become more frequent, apparent and believable, making us feel unworthy and unable to achieve our goals, hold down positive relationship and fulfil our ambitions.

Our inner critic tells us we can’t do things, and we will fail, but these are untrue, and deep down we know this, but we can’t stop them becoming believable.

Repeating personal positive affirmations such as:

  • I am the author of my story
  • It is up to me to write my chapter
  • I am in control of my life, my actions and my thoughts
  • I can do whatever I want to

When we start to listen and believe in the positive, we listen less to the negative. We eventually can stop listening to the negative and more to the positive.

Start today and write your own affirmation. Start with something short that is meaningful for you.

Have it somewhere you can see; have it appear on your phone as a reminder every morning.

These daily minders are helpful to reinforce the positive and push the negative away.

Try it and see how you get on.
