The only constant is change and never more so than now.
Our emotions are up and down, our plans aren’t fitting, our goals aren’t working, and as for our actions – perhaps not getting done either.
Before we can tackle all the things we know we should, we need to see to ourselves first. Bring back balance into our life as best we can.
Consider what ONE thing you can do right now to give yourself, make yourself feel better, a reward or treat, time out to see someone or do something you haven’t for ages.
Never mind thinking, I haven’t got time and I’ve other priorities. Consider this being an investment in YOU. Putting the oxygen mask on you so you can help others and do what you know you need to do the best way you can.
How can we do this when our self-esteem is low, our energy has dipped, our emotions are all over the place, and we don’t know where to start?
Here are some steps you might want to consider to help bring back balance to you and your life:
- Consider finding an accountability buddy; if you can’t afford a life coach or business coach, then consider a friend or colleague whom you can reach out to, even if it’s only for a coffee and chat
- Create a positive experience for you every day; this may be a cup of coffee, calling a friend, watching a film, going for a walk – either way doing something to make you feel better
- Consider your biggest stress factor right now, and think about what strategy you could call upon to mitigate this; this may be guided meditation, yoga, a walk, exercise, reading a book, something that you feel lowers your stress levels and makes you feel more relaxed
- Determine what changes are coming up, prioritise these, decide which ONE you can change by writing down actions you can do to alleviate the problem or help the issue; even one change a day can help you pace yourself and keep stress at bay
Even if you choose only one of the above, that’s a small step to bring balance back into your life.
