Planning a Framework for New Beginnings

We’re at the time of year where New Year’s resolutions are made and where we reflect on those made at the same time last year which were broken or unfulfilled.

We repeat the same pattern with plans for our life, personal or professional goals. We aim to make things better for our business or work in the hope that these goals will keep us on track, focused on stretching ourselves to achieve success.

Have we ever thought about why we don’t fulfil our ambitions or achieve our goals?

Is it a good thing to repeat the cycle by doing the same thing every year with the same unfinished outcome!

Isn’t that the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing hoping for a different outcome when instead we just have the same outcome each time?

You might be interested instead of examining why you haven’t completing those goals in the past.

You might want to investigate what has prevented you from being where you wanted to be instead of setting some of the same or similar goals as before with similar levels of success or failure.

Often, it’s best to consider what you did achieve last year or over the past few years and consider what or who helped you achieve what you did. This may be strategies you used, it might have been someone who helped you, or it could have been a book you read which inspired you, or you may have engaged a coach to help keep you accountable and set the right goals to achieve the right things in life or business.

Whichever of the above worked for you must be the right starting place before considering what goals and how you might achieve them.

Alternatively, there is a great seminar that Success Factor is running in February which is run every year around this time called ‘Framework for Planning and Goal Setting’ which specifically looks at the ‘why’ and the ‘what’ so we can break the cycle, break the pattern of past incomplete goals.

Helping us to achieve a better understanding of why we haven’t achieved our goals in the past, helping with the development of success strategies to help you better achieve your goals in the future as well as developing your SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, time-bound) goals for 2021 and beyond.

If you want to be clear where you want to go, why you want to go there and how you might get there as well as identifying what is stopping or hindering you from doing what you want to do as well as developing those strategies to give you a better chance of success then please click on the link below or email debs@successfactor.co.nz
